The Tangkameez, Mughli, Bollywood and Goa

A traditional Indian Bollywood dance is the tangka or tangkameez, which was originated in the land of Goa. There are several versions of this dance but it has evolved through the years.

The tangkameez is made from three pieces, the choli, a skirt and a top. This is mostly worn by men in Goa and it is called as tangkameez-o-danda in Hindi. It is the most popular type of dance that one can see today in the state of Goa.

The tangkasnet dance form came from the North Indian regions of Rajasthan and Gujarat. It is similar to the raksha bandhan in its basic structure and execution. It also incorporates elements of the vogue that are seen in the Indian music industry. This dance form came under the category of Punjabi and was first performed at the Jai Mahal in Delhi. Soon after, the word got into the vocabulary of the entire world.

It is not only a dance form that has changed with time but it has become a part of different dances. The dance forms that have tangkasnet as the main component is the Punjabi, Bollywood, Mughlai and Gujarati. It also appears in the world of cinema. The tangkameez has become a part of many Hollywood movies of recent years and many of the songs have been adapted in this dance form.

The modern version of tangkasnet is performed by women in the Indian cities like Mumbai and Delhi. It is a dance form that has evolved into something more than what it was originally. However, it is very much associated with the caste system and the social order in India. But in most of the countries that have evolved the tangkameez, the dance form has retained its roots and traditions.

The tangkameez is considered as an integral part of the Indian dance tradition and it has been a part of the dance forms in various states of India. Although, there are some who consider it as a new dance form. The traditional dances associated with this dance form include the raksha bandhan, the hangar, the neelakshahi bhangra, the vinyasa and the ghuggara dances. The raksha bandhan is considered to be the oldest dancing form in India. The raksha bandhan is usually performed to celebrate the birthday of a person or a clan. The bhangra, on the other hand, is considered to be a festival for all those who are fond of music and dancing.

Ghuggara is a dance form that is similar to tangkasnet in its execution. Ghuggara is considered as a festival of love and affection and has its own unique dance form. The neelakshahi bhangra is another dance form that is similar to tangkasnet.

Mughli, also known as ghuggar is also a dance form that is performed in the state of Maharashtra. The Mughal dance forms are very much similar to tangkasnet and both are used to celebrate the birthday of someone. The dance forms have been used for hundreds of years now in India and it has come to become a part of the Indian dance culture.
